What is Brood?

  1. Immature bees that not yet emerged from their cells. Brood can be in the form of eggs, larvae, or pupae of different ages.
  2. A general term to refer to immature bees, includes egg, larvae and pupae.
  3. A term that refers to immature bees, in the various stages of develop- ment, before they have emerged from their cells (eggs, larvae, and pupae).
  4. Honey bee eggs, larvae and pupae.
